A snow system developing in Missouri this afternoon is expected to shift northeastward with the potential to clip southern sections of the region with a few hours of snowfall late tonight into early Sunday morning.
Snow is forecast to begin around 8-10 pm, falling first in southern sections, and should end before dawn. Snowfall will remain light, but some areas, especially south, may see a few bands of moderately heavier snow mixed in at times.
Snow totals will favor southern sections of the region, especially along and south of the I-80 Corridor, where 1-2″ is possible; areas north of I-80 can expect lesser amounts of around 1″; far northern suburbs and areas along the IL/WI state line should see lesser amounts, only a trace up to 1″.
