Light snow showers will spread into the area during the evening commute and continue through the early morning hours on Friday.
Snow will begin falling around 5 pm and will favor southern sections, where up to 2″ accumulation is forecast along and south of I-80 and around 1″ northward through the I-90 corridor. Areas nearest the IL-WI state line, including Rockford and Waukegan, may only receive a dusting.
After a cold Saturday, temperatures surge into the 50s and 60s and persist throughout the week.
This weekend also marks the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, when clocks advance forward one hour.
