While areas along and south of I-80 have already seen some light flurries this morning, another round of widespread snow is forecast for the entire region this afternoon and evening.
Any lingering morning flurries should wind down by Noon before the main event begins, with more snow entering the area between 2-4 pm and exiting by Midnight.
Snow totals are expected to be minor, with a general widespread 1-2″ accumulation forecast, though a few isolated locations may see up to 3″.
While accumulations are minor, the persistent cold air we’ve been experiencing will allow for roads to become more easily covered, and drivers should take extra caution, especially during the afternoon commute.
Intermittent flurries are possible Tuesday. We’re also watching the potential for another inch of accumulation on Wednesday, and perhaps a 1-3″ event for Thursday, as cold weather continues to grip the area throughout the week.
