A light snow of one to three inches is predicted for the Chicago area starting about 1:00 AM Friday morning and continuing with some light flurries possibly into the afternoon. Temperatures will range from the high 20’s to the mid 30’s throughout the day. If the snow comes down relatively quickly there could be some accumulation, but it is more likely that it mostly ends up on grass and elevated surfaces due to the warm pavement temperatures this early in the season. Everyone should be prepared for slick surfaces however and salt crews may be busy. There is no precipitation in the forecast for the following six days with temperatures creeping up into the 40’s by the end of the week.
