A strong upper jet stream will bring a storm system into the Great Lakes tonight, bringing a mix of snow and freezing rain to the area overnight into Wednesday.
Light snow will spread in from the south between 3-5 am Wednesday morning and is expected to become mixed with freezing rain during the AM commute. Precipitation will become mostly freezing rain by the late morning hours before transitioning to rain in southern sections in the afternoon. The system should exit the region between 6-8 pm.
Total snowfall accumulations of up to 2″ are likely with an additional .10″ of ice accumulation throughout the day on Wednesday.
