Another round of accumulating snow is likely Thursday afternoon through the early morning hours on Friday.
Snow is expected to begin between 3-5 pm Thursday and exit the area between 2-4 am Friday morning. At this time, 1-2″ on average is forecast, but isolated amounts of up to 4″ can’t be ruled out. Lingering light snow or flurries may persist into the early hours of Friday, with the remainder of the day looking to be dry.
The continued bitter cold gripping the area into Thursday will bring challenges for ice-covered roadways, sidewalks and parking lots, as ice melting products are inefficient at such cold temperatures.
Temperatures will climb during the day on Friday and through the weekend, with highs on Sunday and Monday expected to be in the upper 40s.
